up a Report on the subject

submitted to their committee

I have now the honor to

forward copy of Dispatch addressed by H. Excellency Sir James Grant to the Secretary for War & State

I take the opportunity of making

Canton Morrice whilst I was

sojourning at Canton, & I

brought the copy of it with me to H.Kong.

I myself gave written authority to

acquire

the lease,

the Land under

as I advised You

of very slight import; Grace in Dark. No 33

I was not aware

that there was any doubt

on the subject.
